This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.

That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.

This is why we download.

Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.

not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend

REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.

friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon

You have to be at least a 5 to call someone else ugly, I dont make the rules fam

how about you slap on some diapers and a pacifier if you gon be this childish

How about you realize that everyone has their own opinions on how others look, and a five for you could be a ten for someone else.

pampers or huggies?

July 20, 2014: A date which will live in infamy.

I’ve watched my blog grow from a fashion/music wannabe blog to it being about lovely couple stuff to being about drugs and sex then to a variety of anime then to morals and justice and feminism stuff I guess. (It’s a quick broad timeline)

I don’t want it; I don’t need it.

this scene is even more creepy when you realize Spirited Away was a metaphor for the sex industry in Japan

"Totoro’s about dead girls!"

"Spirited Away is about sex!"

You know what I hear?

"Maybe if I make up something that sounds smart, people will think I’m smart, even if it’s a complete fucking lie!

Hayao Miyazaki is a man of values. He’s a man who believes in the innocence of childhood and has a wonderful imagination. He believes in simplicity, kindness, the beauty of nature, and the old ways. He draws on these beliefs and his personal experiences when he makes movies.

Spirited Away was made for some friends of Miyazaki’s. Specifically, the ten-year-old daughters of some friends he invited to stay at his vacation home. It’s fairly common for Miyazaki to decide that he’s going to make movies targeted at a specific age group. Ponyo is for five-year-olds. Spirited Away is meant for ten-year-old girls, but enjoyed by a much wider audience.

The bathhouse? Not a brothel. Based on a bathhouse in his home town, which he thought was a place of mystery and wonder when he was a kid. That scene where the bathhouse staff has to clean the polluted river spirit? Based on Miyazaki’s own experiences of a town coming together to clean up a river. This scene? It’s about Chihiro not being greedy, because Chihiro is a positive role-model for ten-year-old girls.

The themes of Spirited Away are courage, strength of character, and individuality. ESPECIALLY individuality. That thing where Yubaba takes away peoples’ names and changes their species? That’s her taking away their individuality. Chihiro’s parents are now pigs, not people. Haku’s name has been shortened so he forgets who he is. When Yubaba changes Chihiro’s name, the only Kanji she leaves spell out “Sen”, the Japanese word for “one thousand”, meaning Chihiro is just another pawn of Yubaba’s, not her own person.

You want to seem cool and intelligent? Talk about the movie’s actual themes. Don’t make up this shock-value bullshit for attention.

You stupid motherfuckers.

THANK YOU. Hayao Miyazaki is a million times better and above making movies about the sex industry and dead girls. How dare anyone say something so slanderous. I hope they’re embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

On the real, I’m gonna be straight with y’all. I shit on people (not literally), I gossip, I hate on people and how lucky they are or who they know or how many cute friends they have. Yeah I’m envious and I’m jealous. I’m passive aggressive and I will talk shit about you behind your back if you get on my nerves.

But everyone experiences this. Like I think it’s a regular thing to experience and a human. We’re not perfect and sometimes in the heat of the moment, our aggression intensifies. But seriously if you have shit to say about someone don’t tell them anonymously. Like at least keep your shitty comments to yourself or the shitty gossip circle you’re ranting to.

And yes I’m guilty of this things that are included within this text post. Like I’m not denying that I don’t do these things but I try not to Is what it is. Though sometimes I try less than others lol. Sorry…. >_

Gosh thelamplightdreary ! Angie that really means a lot because I see you as a very intelligent young woman and that’s seriously so powerful. Like it’s really such a stupendous moment in history ! Lol :3

My mama and I were talking tonight about my future and higher education and stuff and like I’ve come to a place where I want to give back to people. I want to be a good example, a role model to young children and to females.

Like as of right now, the things I’m interested in are geology, lol yeah cuz it’s super neat! Like if I could be a geologist it’s basically a scientist and that’s great because apparently there’s not too many women that become scientist or mathematicians. Like boys/men? Seem to dominate in that area especially those jobs.
And like I’m super into psychology. It’s so crazy like everything bit and piece cognitive, behavioral, shit it’s unlimited.
And then there’s women’s studies. And I can’t say that I know a lot but I know some thanks to tumblr. Idc what people say about my sources being racist or uninformed. Like that’s why I’m here to be educated. Like I think it’s important to hear from every side and if you miss a side, it’s okay. You can go back and reeducate yourself on that if you like and then follow up with your opinion. There’s always going to be people that think differently from you but the best thing you can do is educate yourself and stick to what you believe.
